I was afraid, I'd eat your brains

Deadite Zombie Girl

"Why does she keep making those horrible noises?"
"I don't know!"
"Look at her eyes. Look at her eyes! For God's sake, what happened to her eyes?"

My first drawing of a deadite, Sam Raimi's wonderfully horrific creation from The Evil Dead. This was actually a very difficult piece for me to finish. It started out as a sketch, lived underneath my bed for a few months, and it wasn't until only recently that I found the time to scan it in and finish it.

I tend to have a difficult time coloring things non-realistically, so this was definitely a challenge for me. Although, I am happy with how eerie the reds ended up looking. (She looks a bit like Cheryl, yeah? Okay, maybe pre-cellar Cheryl.) Also, deadites ftw! Take that, zombies.

Just in time for V-Day... The Vagina Monologues

Just in case you missed it...each year in the month of February the V-Day Organization, founded by playwright Eve Ensler, allows The Vagina Monologues to be performed royalty-free on college campuses to raise awareness and funds for organizations working to end violence against women. Last weekend Westminster College hosted their annual performance of The Vagina Monologues.

The following are some of the photos I took of the performance, as well as some of the inspiring women who participated:

Satan Gave Me A Taco

So I finally broke down and bought a tablet. After years of trying to give myself future carpal tunnel syndrome by trying to draw things with my mouse and my pen tool, I figured it was time to invest $70 into a tablet.

So, that being said, this is my first ever try at digital painting (painstaking). It's also the first time I've ever managed to finish a background, ever (impossible). It's inspired by Beck's song 'Satan Gave Me A Taco', which if you haven't heard, I highly recommend listening to.
